Artist of the Month – Justin Cornwall

Justin Cornwall is a seasoned DJ who’s been shaping dance floors for over 15 years. His journey started in 2008, spinning house parties in Santa Clarita, CA. By 2010 he was interning at Hollywood’s legendary School Night party, quickly earning a residency and opening for rising stars like Børns, ODESZA, and Alt‑J.
In 2012, Justin’s career leveled up with a residency at The Standard, DTLA, where he shared lineups with artists like YACHT and Classixx during a Coachella pre‑party. Over the next several years, he became a fixture in Los Angeles and Southern California nightlife—holding residencies at Ace Hotel Palm Springs, The Saguaro, The Roosevelt, and SLS Beverly Hills, playing FYF Festival, getting airtime on KCRW and KROQ, and running his own long‑running party series: And Friends. In 2019, that momentum led to a huge milestone: performing at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
Later that year, Justin relocated to Salt Lake City, where he’s become a staple in the local scene. He’s worked with a wide range of promoters and collectives, played across the underground, and earned airtime on KRCL. He’s also launched his own beloved events in SLC, Friends Again and Heartbreaker, both of which continue to grow and connect the community.
Musically, Justin is most known for indie dance, but his sets often lean into house and disco—balancing LA‑honed polish with the raw energy of SLC’s underground. Now nearing two years of sobriety, he credits his community for that milestone, proof that music, connection, and resilience are at the core of everything he does.
Beyond DJing, Justin has nearly a decade of event and festival production experience; he’s always building something—on and off the decks.
Congratulations @whatjustin on being voted August’s Artist of the Month by the @edmelevated community!
